Muffin Tin Monday - the Alphabet

The Alphabet!

We searched high and low for food items that were shaped like letters ... however, the only one I could fine was a donut. Darn it ... guess we'll have to add it in and then get a little creative with the rest!

Here's what we came up with:

Alphabet Soup

cutting a "W" out of a slice of watermelon

breadsticks in the shapes of letters (I let the kids choose what letters they wanted)

chocolate pudding with Alphabits cereal (they had to spell out words)

the donut

and carrot sticks that they used to form letters.

We did lots of spelling during dinner tonight!

We did lots of playing with our food tonight, too! Yahoo!

YUM YUM YUM!

Go check out the other creations at:

Her Cup Overfloweth

p.s. - Ruby (love the name) requested the recipe for the breadsticks: it's very simple ... You start by going to the store and purchasing some frozen bread/scone dough. When you get home, pull out however many you want and set them out for 2 hours (depending on how warm your kitchen is), so they can thaw. When they are soft, form them into the shapes you want and set them on a buttered baking sheet. Brush the tops with butter and sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Let them sit for about 20 minutes and then bake at 350 until golden brown. Easy, easy, easy.
