Muffin Tin Monday - So Long Summer

This Muffin Tin Monday is dedicated to Summer. It holds some of very favorite summer things: Sunchips, BCT's (that's Bacon, Cucumber and fresh garden Tomato Sandwich), Fried Zucchini, Watermelon, Grape Slushies and S'mores.

Ode to a Fleeting Summer

Oh, Sweet Summer, your days went so fast.
I can hardly believe that soon it’s your last.
With June rained out, and July so busy
I don’t mean to pout, or throw a tizzy
But, what’s happened to August? I really can’t say.
It’s my favorite month, heck it’s got my birthday!
So I sit here and wonder, with a sigh of confusion
Hoping, by some miracle, it’s just an illusion.
But I look to the calendar and see that it’s true,
School starts Thursday, oh phooey, phoo, phoo!
I better start ironing, preparing and signing
Instead of just sitting, wondering and whining.
So, goodbye my Vitamin D, fresh air filled friend,
With sunsets and rainbows and flowers without end.
I’ll see you next year and hope then you’ll stay
