RSV and PCMC

Friday afternoon, during a follow-up visit to the Doctor, we were informed that The King was very sick and needed to go to the hospital right away. If his oxygen stats had been any lower they would have sent him in an ambulance, YIKES! So, we loaded up, made a few phone calls and headed for Primary Children's Medical Center. We checked in and were given oxygen right away, now it was just time to wait ... and wait ... and wait!

The nap proved that he would need
to be on oxygen still when he was asleep.
So, we grabbed our tank of O2,
signed the papers,
and ran toward HOME!

In the comfort of his own home - WHEW!

This little RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) experience did teach me a few things:

1. I have a very sweet, darling baby!

(okay ... so I already knew that)

2. I am very grateful for my life and my trials, they are all there for a reason. As I walked through the hospital, I was aware of many children much more ill than ours. I ran into a friend from college who was there with his newborn, who was born with some serious complications. I felt very grateful to have a curable illness that my baby would recover from soon.

3. I think I might want to look into going back to school and getting an RN and working there myself. Hmmmmm.

4. The Boy needs me ... he had a complete meltdown just hours before we arrived home. Earlier that day he looked at Nana and asked her, "Am I ever going to see my mom again?" He wasn't the same silly boy until we were all home together, the whole entire family!

5. I now know why we never bought one of those cool Bumpo chairs:

OH, poor guy. I am so glad that he is back home though, and didn't have to stay in the hospital for very long. And yes, hospital stays do have a way of making you appreciate your blessings, especially those of health. Thanks for the reminder.
I think you would make a great RN!
Good luck getting that little king all healed up.

Hugs and blessings.

I am so glad you chronicled your experience. Poor King, to be so sick! That must have been a very stressful, trying elperience. But it is amazing the perspective it brings!

I have gotten so behind in blogworld, I didn't know you were going through this! Wow, it sounds like you stayed so calm during the experience, I'm very impressed. I am so happy for your little King to be better and back at home!
