Our Bit of Sunshine ... Day 5

Thursday we didn't have anything planned and we really just wanted to play in the sunshine. It was a beautiful day and it would have been a shame to not go out and enjoy it. The good news was that a friend of mine who moved down to Phoenix a few years ago was available to play. So, we met her and her kids and went to the most wonderful park ever.
This park was a private park for the homeowners and we were amazed at it's amenities. It had a big pond for fishing, a fun playground, a splash pad, a pool, picnic areas, walking trails, tennis courts, and on and on ... this park was incredible. Needless to say, we let the kids start running around and they had a great time. They were happy to see some old friends again, too!

This is Rachel and her baby who was born after she moved, so this was our first chance to meet this cute little guy!

It was so great to play in the sunshine, just looking at all this fun is helping me not go too crazy about the snow and rain we are having right now (ugh ... think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts).
After playing all day we went back to Brad and Wendy's and ended up taking Wendy out to dinner at T.G.I. Fridays (even though it was Thursday). Brad had a meeting to go to, and we missed him, but it was nice to have a little more time to visit with Wendy. She took such good care of us all week, making her famous waffles and pancakes, helping us with our laundry and sleeping arrangements, not seeming bothered by our stuff all over her house ... she was wonderful. And Brad was too, we are so grateful to them for hosting us and being great friends.

And with that, our trip was almost over.

We packed up that night and got everything ready to go so that we could get an early start on our trip back home the next morning.

(that means I have one more day to share in this seemingly unending travelogue ...)
