Inch by Inch, Row by Row

Gonna make this garden grow

All it takes is a rake and a hoe

And a piece of fertile ground.

Inch by inch, row by row

Someone bless these seeds I sow

Someone warm them from below

'Til the rain comes tumblin' down.

- The Garden Song

A few days ago we planted some seeds.

Carefully. Lightly. We filled our boxes.

We cared for the seeds and hoped for the best, and even offered a prayer or two on their behalf (something to the effect of please help us to not completely mess this up).

And after a few days, several waterings, and a fantastic deluge...

Our garden is sprouting!

I was in such a good mood after seeing these little radishes poking through the soil that I had to take a few minutes to enjoy some of the other things around me!

Even the bees were somewhat enchanting (which is saying A LOT for me and my little phobia) as I looked over all the good things growing around me ...
I am so blessed to be surrounded by such beauty.

I'm impressed your kids will work in the garden. I've got hours of fighting my son this summer trying to create a work ethic. I long for the good ol' days when he wanted to be a helper. I can't pay him to be one now:) Embrace it while you've got it!
