Saying Goodbye to the Sunshine!

Okay ... hopefully it was more of a "See ya later Sunshine" when we left Arizona.

We decided to make our way home in one day, pretty ambitious with the baby, but we wanted to be home for Jack's baptism on Saturday. And, there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed.

We loaded up quickly and said our good-byes. The kids had a tough time saying goodbye to Molly, they loved playing with her and she loved them. She was the sweetest dog, so gentle and good with the kids, even The King. Anyhow, after a bunch of hugs and pictures we stopped at Ramiros for breakfast burritos and headed on home!

The kids were all smiles, that lasted a good 3o minutes!

Don't you wish you could name some places, who gets these privileges, anyway?

We drove through a bunch of Joshua Trees ... they are pretty darn weird! Dr. Seuss must have been inspired by these.

And we made a much longer than anticipated "stop" at Hoover Dam.

It wasn't really a stop, but since it took almost an hour to drive across the dam, I think it counts!

Some of the things we'll miss... the landscaping:

(Bert has yard envy.)

We'll miss all the cool desert plants.

And we'll miss the BIG SKIES! (yes, I know we weren't in Montana)

But most of all, we miss the sun!

We certainly hope the sun makes it to Utah someday soon, we are huge fans!!!

We're ready and waiting!!!

Really!

You just made me so homesick! The ocotillo's were blooming! And the skies are so beautiful there, aren't they? Thanks for posting the pics even if it did pull at my heart strings.

What a fun trip and I hear you with the Hoover Dam experience. That happened to us when we went Phoenix over New Years.

Your trip looks like it was so nice! That dog is so cute! If your kids want a dog they can take ours...although I bet they wouldn't like how hyper Moose is.
