What I Love Wednesday - Backyard Playtime

Sunny, warmish days = LOTS of playtime in the backyard!

One of my very favorite things!
Playtime in the backyard consists of LOTS of different things ... here are a few:

Discovering Dirt.

Making Dirt Pies (so glad they weren't mud pies).

Making Faces.

Hoping to get picked for the Basketball Team
(even though he's wearing a baseball shirt).

Some Planting?

A Galactic Battle of Good vs. Evil (don't ask who's who).

And, isn't someone missing?

Thing 1 was stuck in a book while I had the camera out
... with The Dog at her side.

There's so much to love about warm, sunny days.
There's so much to love about being able to send the kids out to the backyard.

Here's some of those things:

I REALLY, REALLY love when I can send the kids out to play for HOURS.
I love hear all the happy sounds that come from that play.
I love that they are in the fresh air.
I love that they aren't playing video games or watching TV.
I love that they aren't fighting.
I love that they are discovering the world around them.
I love that they use their imaginations for some pretty fun adventures.
I love the gates that keep them in the backyard (the King, at least).
I love that they want to play together.
I love freckles popping on noses.
I love that they aren't making messes in the house.
I love the playset that doubles as a spaceship, or pirate ship, or whatever it might need to be at the moment.
I love that I can see and hear them from the kitchen and from the computer.
I love that they want to be outside.
I love that The King is old enough to get out there and PLAY.
I love dirt! OUTSIDE!

These days come and go quickly in our Utah Springs ...
so I have learned to take full advantage whenever they are here.

We have loved more than one consistent day of warmth and sunshine. We hardly want to do anything inside right now. Too bad I still have inside jobs to do. I need to get on the outside jobs while I'm at it!

This is the first time we've had a backyard for the kids! Well, we've had them, but never grassed, so they never wanted to play out there. We are loving it. I didn't even care how muddy they got the other day...I just learned I should probably buy galoshes instead.

Your crew looks like they had a blast! Love it!
