Really? Is this a normal three year old boy?

I recently noticed that the majority of my family posts are about my wonderful little three year old boy. He really keeps me hopping, and if I don't stay on top of him, well, then, I get a good blog post.

Today he tried to make his own lunch - by microwaving a cheese sandwich for several minutes. I was down in my dungeon doing laundry, the baby by my side, thank heavens. The Boy comes and asks me if I smell that stinky? I knew he wasn't talking about his diaper, since he never does. So I ask him what is stinky and he said it was the sandwich. Withoust hesitation I ran upstairs and it was completely filled with smoke.

I yell to The Boy to stay downstairs with the King and I start opening every window and door in the house. After a while, the smoke was gone.

And, all is well.

However, my lovely white, clean microwave is now a sort of icky yellow on the inside. And, after a few minutes with a razor blade, I was able to recover the glass tray.

The good that came of this:
No fire!
My microwave still works.
I know my smoke detectors need new batteries.
Another good story to share with Bert.

The bad:
My microwave looks like something from a boys dorm now.
I am hosting book club tomorrow and I am pretty sure things will still smell a little smokey.

So, back to my original question, are most three year old boys like this?

Example 1
Example 2
Example 3
Example 4
(the list could go on and on and on)

THIS, however, is why I haven't given up!
And THIS! (and THIS)

Please tell me I am not alone!

I asked a guy I work with who has nine children which he prefers, boys or girls. Hands down, girls until 12, then around 16 they seem to mellow out and be normal again. So, I guess we will have to wait and see. Mean while, just know the 'boy' loves you! and You love him!

You know I'm right there with you, feeling your pain. We ought to get these boys together and just see what happens . . .

Boys! That's all I can really say. I grew up with four of them. I remember one day Teague had about did me in, I called my mom that night in tears and said to her, "Mom! How did you do it with four of them?" Her response was..... "I just did." Ever since then, I just 'do.'

I watched your sunbeam video and it reminded me of the time Teague blew a HUGE fart on his arm during the Primary Program. Everyone heard it and laughed. He was so proud. The bishop came up to me after church and said, "You just keep bringing him." Oh, I will!

Oh girl, I love you so much! You are not alone!

Even though not boys...just call my mom and ask her what a challenge HER third child was...or your mom, for that matter. :-)

Love yer guts!

Well, my 3 year old boys are that way! They always try to mess with the microwave downstairs so I can't leave it plugged in. I think it's a boy thing.
