The Year in Review - Meme Style

I have been trying to figure out how to sum up the year in an interesting way, I found this little MEME, and it might not be interesting but it is comprehensive. So, I snagged it and am using it to guide my way through my memories of the great 2008!

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before? I went into labor with my fourth child - never happened before - I LOVED IT!!!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Honestly, I was sick and pregnant at the beginning of last year and didn't even make a single resolution! I will have a few for this year, however.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Ummm - Yeah - ME! And my sister-in-law Tiana (had our babies on the same day - how cute is that?) and then half my neighborhood had babies, too - it's been a fun year!

4. Did anyone close to you die? No, thank heavens. But some very important leaders in my church passed away, I am so grateful for the lives they lived and the lessons they taught.

5. What countries and/or states did you visit? We took a day trip to Wyoming - that's about it, we don't travel much with babies. And we did go digging for trilobites in the desert outside Delta, Utah.

12. What was the best thing someone gave you? Every single day with my husband and family, a TON of help from my mom, a surprise birthday visit from my sister from Australia, 2 wonderful daughters that are so sweet and helpful, a very sweet baby and The Boy getting potty trained - YAY!

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 36 - WOW! I wanted to have all my kids by 35 and I just barely made it! 37. Who did you miss? My sister and brother - wish they were closer.

38. Who was the best new person you met? Hard to say because we have had some great people move into my neighborhood recently and I have really enjoyed getting to know them better and building friendships with them this past year. And I have "met" some very fun, delightful people out there in bloggy land!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008: Simplify - SERIOUSLY! (Chera - thanks for the reminder - I really need it)

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
It's either this:

Even though we ain't got money
I'm so in love with ya honey
every day will bring a chain of love.

Or this: (playing for you as you read this post - yes, you're welcome)

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes, Turn and face the strain
Ch-ch-changes, Don't want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes, Turn and face the strain
Ch-ch-changes, Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me, But I can't trace time
And for fun - Here we are welcoming in the New Year! Too bad I didn't get a reaction of Bert and Darin eating the jalapenos- that was a sight! (Like usual, there are no pictures of me, just imagine me playing cards, holding a baby and snickering at everyone about the hot jalapenos).
Happy 2009 EVERYONE!
